Lakshey Zangpo Lama grew up in the Eastern region of Tibet known as Golok.  He began formal practice of the precious Buddhadharma at a young age.  In his early teens, he entered the renowned Serthar Buddhist Academy where he met the Great Khenpo, His Holiness Jigme Phuntsok Rinpoche, who became his most precious root guru.  He meditated, successfully practiced, and thoroughly studied the vast works of Buddhist Sutra and Tantra.

Lama Lakshey currently lives in America and gives Dharma teachings and meditation instruction.  He also furthers the activities of The Joru Foundation, a non-profit organization, dedicated to supporting quality education inside Tibet for orphans and poor children.  All his activities are aimed at being of benefit to those who know him.  He has a sincere wish to promote the ideas of compassion and peace through education.
